Irishman appears in court charged with brother's murder

AN IRISHMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of his brother three days ago.

Gerard Lynch, 29 with an address at Main Street, Pallaskenry Co Limerick, appeared in Newcastlewest District Court this morning.

He was charged with the murder of his brother Willie Lynch at Pallaskerny on Saturday December 30.

The court was told when the charge was put to him last night under caution, he replied: "Sorry, I didn't mean it."

A solicitor was assigned to represent him and he was remanded in custody to appear in Limerick District Court next Tuesday.

Solicitor Michael O’Donnelly asked that any required medical assessment be given to him while he is in custody.
