IRISH ISIS bride Lisa Smith is being investigated over possible links to a prominent American jihadi dubbed the “IS Goebbels”.
According to a report from The Irish Sun, the FBI are probing the nature of Smith’s alleged contact with the Greek America IS convert John Thomas Georgelas.
The former Defence Forces pilot, who moved to Syria three years ago to join IS but has always insisted she played no part in the violent acts perpetrated by the group.
However, the Irish security services and FBI are reportedly investigating claims Georgelas contacted Smith several years ago online with the pair allegedly exchanging messages in the interim.
Smith is even believed to have sent money to Georgelas to expedite her move out to Syria where she is said to have lived with the American and his wife for several months.
Georgelas, who went the name Yahya al-Bahrumi, served as an ISIL spokesman, chief strategist, and director of foreign terror operations.
He reportedly died in 2017 during fighting in Mayadin, in northern Syria.
One of the leading producers of high-end English-language propaganda, al-Bahrumi was once quoted as saying the following:
“The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam.”
“We fight you, not simply to punish and deter you, but to bring you true freedom in this life and salvation in the Hereafter, freedom from being enslaved to your whims and desires as well as those of your clergy and legislatures, and salvation by worshipping your Creator alone and following His messenger.”
Smith claims to have spoken to “an American” online prior to her conversion, who encouraged her to move to IS territory to practice Islam.
She maintained she was unaware of the role he played in IS.
