Life President of the Longford Association in London passes away

A LIFE President of the Longford Association in London has passed away less than a fortnight after he attended the organisation’s 60th anniversary dinner dance.

Brian McKenna passed away on Thursday, March 5, following a long illness.

The Longford native, who hailed from Killmacora in Killoe, was chairman of the London Association for 15 years before taking the title of Life President.

He recently attended the Association’s 60th anniversary dinner dance with his wife Mary, where he caught up with his friend, Longford singer Declan Nerney.

The event took place on Saturday, February 21 at the Crown Moran Hotel in Cricklewood.

Mr McKenna was also a long-term supporter of the Council of Irish County Associations in London.
