A LUCKY punter beat the odds to win €16,500 from a 50 cent bet after correctly predicting four numbers from Friday’s EuroMillions Plus draw.
The punter, from Cork, chose the numbers 12, 14, 16 and 26 for his wager with BoyleSports.
According to the Irish Mirror, the punter beat odds of 33,000/1 when his numbers came up, netting him €16,500.
The huge return is eight times the amount paid out for four numbers in the Lotto.
A spokesperson for Boylesports said: “We’re beginning to wonder if there’s something in the water down in Cork as we’re paying out another big winner on our Lotto betting, this time walking off with €16,500 from just a 50 cent bet."
