Michael Flatley's 'Celtic Tiger' is available to watch online for free right now

THE MICHAEL Flatley dance spectacular, Celtic Tiger, has been made available to watch for free in its entirety online for the next 48 hours.

One of the greatest Irish dance productions to ever grace the stage, Celtic Tiger marked Flatley’s triumphant return four years after announcing his retirement.

Best known as the international star and face of productions like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, Celtic Tiger represents what many regarded as his finest work to date.

Drawing upon his Irish roots, it struck a more political note than any of his previous work, touching on themes of the enduring Irish spirit through centuries of oppression.

Flatley, himself, previously explained how "Celtic Tiger portrays the oppression of a people and the tiger symbolises the awakening of their Spirit and their struggle for freedom."

An exploration of Irish spirit and culture, told through the enduring song and dance traditions of the Emerald Isle, it explored the fascinating history of the Irish diaspora and emigration to the US.

A masterful fusion of dance styles including, most notable, Jazz, Flatley also made sure to include many of the elements that made shows like Riverdance such a hit, including his mesmerising flute solos and the sight of a line of dancers got the big finale.

The show first premiered in Budapest, followed by a North American tour in 2005 and a European tour in 2006.

Now, some 14 years on, Celtic Tiger will be enchanting fans old and new again on YouTube with the show set to be made available to watch online for the next 48 hours via The Shows Must Go On!  YouTube channel and via the video link below:

Set up to provide entertainment during lockdown while raising essential funds for a variety of charities, information on all of the initiatives being supported with this free-to-watch event can be found below.
