THE LONDON Darkness Into Light walk in aid of the suicide and self harm charity Pieta House took place this morning in Cricklewood, with record numbers taking to the streets.

Hundreds of walkers and runners set off in darkness from the Clayton Crown hotel  in North London on the 5k route through the streets of Cricklewood and nearby Gladstone Park, crossing the finishing line as dawn broke.

They joined the thousands who took part in similar events in 90 locations across Ireland as well as in Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow and in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Abu Dhabi.
