Scottish Police look for other victims of Karen Buckley killer

THE killer of Irish student Karen Buckley may have had other victims.

Alexander Pacteau, 21 from Glasgow, pleaded guilty to murdering the Cork nurse and now faces life in prison.

It has since emerged that Pacteau had stood trial in Paisley in 2013 accused of attempting to rape a 24-year-old woman in a Glasgow lane. But he was found not guilty.

Scottish Police have this week asked anyone who has further suspicions regarding Pacteau to come forward.

Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr of Police Scotland's major investigations team said that while Pacteau was “not currently being considered as a suspect in other reported incidents, should anyone have any information we would ask that they contact police on 101.”

Educated at an £11,000-per-year private school, Pacteau was accused of rape just months after graduating at the age of 17.

He admitted killing Ms Buckley in April by strangling and attacking her with a spanner.
