SINEAD O'Connor has pleaded for help to find her teenage son after he went missing in south Dublin on Friday.

Shane O'Connor, 14, has been missing from his home in Woodpark, Ballinteer since around 5.15pm on January 18.

'My sweet son'

Nothing Compares 2 U singer Sinead, 52, who changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat after converting to Islam last year, took to Twitter over the weekend to appeal for help to find her son.

Reaching out to her 40,000 followers, she wrote: "My sweet 14 yr old son has been going missing a lot and is currently missing for the last two days.

"If you are a parent in whose house he has been staying or is staying, please call Dundrum Gardai.

"Not calling them is not helping him".

She later shared a picture of Shane, adding: "If you see him or he is at your home please contact Dundrum or Wicklow Gardai."

Anyone who has seen Shane O'Connor or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact Dundrum Garda Station on 01 666 5600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
