Tragedy as family found dead in Kerry in suspected murder suicide

A WOMAN and two men have been found dead at a property in rural County Kerry in what Gardaí suspect was a murder-suicide.

Gardaí are investigating a major tragedy in Lixnaw, some 13 kilometres from Listowel, after the bodies of three members of the same family were discovered at a house last night.

The bodies of a woman in her 60s and a man in his 20s were found inside the house, and the body of a man in his 60s was found shortly afterwards, outside the back of the property.

Sources told The Journal that the horrific discovery was made by a neighbour at around 9pm.

All three had suffered gunshot wounds, and a firearm was found at the scene.

A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths, which is being treated as a suspected murder-suicide.
