BENEFITS Street’s ‘White Dee’ was kicked in the head and thrown into a swimming pool while on holiday in Magaluf this week.
The mother-of-two, real name Deirdre Kelly, was hosting a promotional pool party in the Spanish resort when the ‘assault’ happened, her agent has confirmed.
He claims she was posing for pictures with holidaymakers when approached by a man who kicked her in the head before throwing her in the pool.
Tomes, who witnessed the attack, explained: “Thankfully, Dee can swim. But as far as we are concerned this is an assault and we called the police immediately.”
He added: “Dee intends to make an assault charge. This man ran up behind her, kicked her in the back of the head, and she fell in the pool. She is now feeling very distressed and shaken up.”
The 42-year-old, whose parents hail from Ireland, relies on benefits to provide for herself and her two children in Birmingham.
She was left with a ‘sore head and a bruised arm’ following the incident, Tomes confirmed.
“It isn’t fair,” he added.
“She’s a real person. Dee takes a lot of flack and takes it in good stead, but this was horrible.”
Police have retrieved CCTV from the Spanish hotel complex where the incident took place.
An appeal for witnesses of the alleged assault has also been launched, while reports claim a British promoter in his 20s working on the island will be questioned by police.
