A full preview of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival

The Cheltenham Festival returns this coming Tuesday. 

The Cheltenham Festival is a horse racing-based meeting in the National Hunt racing calendar in the United Kingdom, with race prize money second only to the Grand National. 

Racing punters and racing fans flock from Ireland and the UK to watch the best in business race each other in a number of famous races.

When does the Cheltenham Festival start?

The racing starts on Tuesday and finishes up on Friday.

Where is it on?

Prestbury Park in Cheltenham

What is the schedule?

There are seven races aday. The first race begins at 1.30 and the last race takes place at 5.30..

How much is admission?

Tickets range from £55 to £100.00.

Where can I watch it?

Racing TV will broadcast every race. Virgin Media 1 and ITV 1 will broadcast the first five races each day.

What are races not to miss?

The meeting features several Grade I races including the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase and Stayers' Hurdle.

Who won the Gold Cup last year

Rachael Blackmore became the first woman to win the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival.

The jockey came in first place riding A Plus Tard.

Maximum capacity for each day at the Cheltenham Festival is set to be capped at 68,500 from 2023
