GALLERY: Birmingham’s boxing belles in action at The WBC Women’s Boxing Club

THE WBC Women’s Boxing Club, in association with JAM Promotions, recently held its Hallo-Queens Boxing Tournament recently at the Birmingham Irish Centre.

The club was launched in October 2014 and has been seen as a great success, gaining blessings and best wishes from the world of boxing such as Birmingham-based boxing chief Pat Benson, the ‘Dark Destroyer’ Nigel Benn, Mike Tyson’s former sparring partner Joe Egan, former world super middleweight champion Richie Woodall, and Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini.

They have also been receiving attention from outside the boxing world with the ladies getting the blessing of former X-Factor Judge Nicole Scherzinger, who recently praised the club when she revealed that she keeps fit through boxing training.

The club, based in Highgate, Birmingham, was founded by former Irish cruiserweight champion Jason Lowe and charity worker Mav Akram.

In the short period it has been open it has gone from three to five sessions a week and has recently been voted number one gym by satellite fight channel BoxNation.
