Lennon backs Larsson to be next Celtic boss

NEIL LENNON has endorsed Henrik Larsson to be the next Celtic manager

Asked if the legendary striker was ready to step into his shoes at Parkhead, Lennon told Sky Sports: “He’s had a fabulous career as a player, he is a very intelligent guy and knows the game very well.”

Hakan Nilsson, sporting director of Falkenbergs, told Press Association Sport: “There has not been any contact between us and Celtic and there has not been any enquiry whatsoever from Celtic.”

Lennon, 42, stepped down on Thursday having led the club to three Scottish Premiership titles during his four-year spell in charge.

Despite the endorsement, Larsson has drifted out to 4-1 to get the job, having been odds on yesterday.

David Moyes, sacked by Manchester United after a hugely disappointing season, has nudged into the lead in the betting race. He is priced at 7-2.
