Tir Chonaill Gaels

The junior team played two league matches over the past week and had mixed fortunes.

Last Tuesday we got taught a lesson by Moindearg and struggled throughout the game before going down by a score of 0-3 to 4-11.

Last Saturday we played Shalloe Pearse at Greenford and came out the right side of a 2-11 to 2-5 result, a lot more hard work is required if we are to make our mark this season.

Our reserve team keep on grinding out the results in the league after a hard earned win over a good North London Shamrock team last Saturday.

Their were good performances from Kevin Mullan, Fergus Horan, Gary Kane and Barry McDonagh. Final score TCG 3-13 NLS 2-10.

The club were greatly saddened to hear of the passing by of long serving member and supporter Gabriel Donohoe late last week at Charing Cross hospital.

A native of Teemore in Co. Fermanagh he had been involved with the club since the late eighties and was influential in getting club stalwart Tommy Maguire to join up.

Although his health had deteriorated over the years it did not stop him travelling to all of our club games no matter what the weather. He was a quiet gentleman who was very dedicated to the club and Gaa in general, and would be seen most weekends in the pensioner’s dugout at Ruislip.

Tir Chonaill Gaels pass on our condolences to Gabriel’s family both in England and Ireland and we thank him for the memories he has left with us.

Funeral arrangements will be posted on the club website, twitter and Facebook when confirmed. May he rest in Peace.

Congratulations: The club would like to pass on our best wishes to player Niall Travers and his Girlfriend Marie on the recent arrival of their baby boy.
