Europe’s biggest MMA promotion, OKTAGON MMA will head to Ostrava this weekend, for OKTAGON 50.
Headlining the event will be a fight for the vacant featherweight world championship, with OKTAGON MMA’s pound for pound king, Losense Keita taking on Niko Samsonidse.
In preparation for the fight, Samsonidse has been training at Ireland’s most famous MMA gym, SBG.
Samsonidse commented:"Man I'm absolutely fine now that it is fight week, I'm looking forward to the fight and I'm super excited.
"I had a great camp, it was two weeks out in SBG Ireland preparing as well as the rest of the time in Berlin with my team, I feel ready to go and I'm super excited to fight for a title in a main event.
"I had such a warm welcome when I got there, really great training partners and I was also there with Rafael Xavier and Ebrahim Hosseinpour who are fighting on this card as well.
"It was great to get the insight from John Kavanagh as well when I was out there."
Also on the card, former opponent of Conor McGregor, Ivan Buchinger. Buchinger was on the receiving end of a viral KO from McGregor, when the Irishman claimed his second Cage Warriors belt, in a fight which ultimately earned him his call up to the UFC. Buchinger, a veteran of European MMA, will compete for the lightweight strap at OKTAGON 50.
