Sinéad O'Connor asks for prayers for son Shane after 'day from hell'

SINÉAD O'CONNOR has asked her fans to pray for her son Shane after the pair experienced a 'day from hell'.

The iconic Irish musician took to Twitter, where she has an impressive following, to ask for support after she and her son had experienced a 'day from hell'.

She wrote:

"Any spare prayers out there, [please] stick one in for my son, Shane," adding that he was "the very light of my life".

The request for prayers came minutes after Sinéad had issued a Tweet admitting that she had had a "hideous day from hell".

While Sinéad, who also goes by Shuhada Sadaqat since converting to Islam, did not expand on the reasons she needed prayers, her followers and fans were quick to give her the support she needed.

With the request sent out on 1 February, which is St Brigid's Day in Ireland, some sent photographs of the traditional St Brigid's Cross, with one woman showcasing a brightly-coloured, handmade cross with the words "Hope."

Others sent inspirational quotes or praying hand emojis indicating they were sending their love to Sinéad and her son, and most wished Sinéad and Shane the best with whatever they were going through.

The musician had previously asked the internet for help with her son after he briefly went missing in 2019 at the age of 14.

Reaching out to her followers at the desperately worrying time, she revealed that her son had been missing for two days and urged everyone to keep an eye out for him.

Thankfully, Shane was located safe and well not too long after.
