BBC's Peaky Blinders to receive World Premiere in Birmingham

THE FIRST episode of the new series of period crime drama Peaky Blinders, starring Cillian Murphy, is set to receive its world premiere in Birmingham later this month.

The launch of the second season of the BBC series will be hosted by the city in which the story is set, with fans encouraged to wear Peaky Blinder style costumes.

Murphy and the series' writer and creator, Steven Knight, are due to attend the red carpet screening on the city's Broad Street on Sunday September 21.

The upcoming series of Peaky Blinders will welcome new cast members Tom Hardy and Noah Taylor, who will join Murphy and co-star Helen McCrory.

The BBC says the second series will "see the Shelby family expand their empire South and North while maintaining a stronghold in their Birmingham heartland".

Peaky Blinders returns to BBC Two in early October.
