Irish Twitter goes crazy over Matt LeBlanc during Friends reunion show because he 'looks like everyone's Da'

MATT LEBLANC has gone viral in Ireland following his appearance on the Friends reunion show, which aired over the weekend.

Irish social media went into meltdown during the broadcast due to the fact that LeBlanc - who famously played Joey in the smash-hit sitcom - resembled just about 'Irish Da' there's ever been.

Ever since the show's final episode aired in 2004, fans have been begging the cast to come together for a some form of reunion.

They only had to wait 17 years, but after watching the likes of Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer reminisce about their time on the set, millions of viewers from around the world who tuned in to watch the programme will likely argue it was worth it.

But here in Ireland, everyone's attention was on LeBlanc.

With his silvered hair, his bulky frame, his frequently crossed arms, and his superb dry wit throughout, people couldn't help but point out that he looked and sounded like everyone's uncle.

Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain led the Twitter frenzy, writing: "The rest of the world should know that for the last 24 hours Irish Twitter has become OBSESSED with how much Matt Le Blanc looks like everyone's uncle/cousin.

"Read this thread to get the full sense of it. Or don't; because you won't understand the half of it."

Another social media user wrote: "He looks like the Irish Uncle with a heart of gold. He's behind the times, rough round the edges, loves life, his family, his cattle and you, hugs like a bear, drinks like a fish, talks the hind legs off a donkey ..."

Another fan said LeBlanc "looks like a fella you'd end up having a deep conversation with in the residents bar after a wedding. ten pints deep and he's giving you the best advice you'll ever get. you'll never meet him again but his sage wisdom sticks with you forever. a gentleman."

"Bridgerton" actress Nicole Coughlan wrote "Matt LeBlanc is Irish, I don't want to see any other nation trying to claim him, he's from Tullamore, he drinks milk with his dinner."
