Love/Hate actor to take the stage in Edinburgh as Howie the Rookie

LOVE/HATE star Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is to perform acclaimed Irish play Howie The Rookie in Scotland in August.

The one-man play, written by Intermission screenwriter Mark O’Rowe, will be staged at Edinburgh’s Assembly Hall from August 1 until August 25.

It will be staged as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The play is set in Dublin and sees IFTA-winner Vaughan-Lawlor take on the role of two characters, Howie and Rookie.

It was first performed in London in 1999 before being taken worldwide and enjoying two sell out seasons in New York.

Tickets for the Edinburgh performances, produced by Landmark Productions, are on sale now with tickets starting from £11.

The production is currently being staged in Dublin at the Project Arts Centre with Vaughan-Lawlor also in the lead role.

The Dublin-born actor will also be seen on British TV screens as Nidge in RTE’s Love/Hate when the first series is aired on Channel 5 next month.
