ONE DIRECTION star Louis Tomlinson tried to pull off an Irish accent as he impersonated bandmate Niall Horan during Saturday’s X Factor.
As we know, many stars have tried to pull off an Irish accent and failed miserably – just have a look here.
Meanwhile the last person to attempt an Irish accent on ITV felt the sharp end of Roy Keane’s tongue.

However unlike Ian Wright, there was no mocking in Tomlinson’s effort, as he tried to impress Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field with his vocal skills.
After she asked if he could do a Liverpool accent, fellow X Factor judge Tomlinson attempted his best Scouse effort, before proudly claiming he could “do Irish”.
You can see his effort below.

We agreed we'd watch d #XFactor if later we watch d #AnthonyJoshua #boxing n it wasn't that bad until @Louis_Tomlinson whose vocals maybe ok, but jaysus why do people doing an #Irish accent think we all sound like a #leprechaun off Darby O'Gill or @TomCruise off #FarAndAway

The response was certainly mixed, although Horan himself is yet to give his verdict on Tomlinson’s effort.
What did you think of Louis’ Irish lilt?
