Birmingham kicks off a weekend of festival fun at The Irish Post St Patrick's Day Breakfast

THE Irish Post hosted its annual Breakfast in Birmingham yesterday ahead of the city's St Patrick's Day parade and festival.

Around 200 members of the community gathered for a morning of Irish music, fun and food at the McDonald Burlington hotel.

Hosted by BBC presenter Bob Brolly - who also took part in a Live Facebook broadcast - invited guests were treated to a display of dancing from the McCarron School of Irish Dance after a full Irish breakfast feast.

Joining in the festivities was Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Carl Rice and his wife Lady Mayoress Deed Curry as well as the Irish Embassy's Community and Culture First Secretary Ruaidhri Dowling.
