Death of man found in Irish park now being treated as murder

THE DEATH of a man who was found with serious chest injuries in an Irish park this week is now being treated as murder.

Ioan Artene Bob, 49, was found in Sean Walsh Memorial Park, Tallaght by a passer-by at 8.30am on Friday.

The Romanian national was rushed to Tallaght Hospital but passed away on Friday afternoon.

Gardaí believe Ioan, who is thought to have been working in the construction industry, died as a result of an assault.

They have now launched a murder investigation following a post mortem examination by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margret Bolster.

The last confirmed sighting of Ioan was at 8.30pm on Thursday, April 12, in the Moore Street area of Dublin.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone with information to contact the incident room at Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
