The Federation of Irish Societies will hold two free workshops to offer advice on applying for Emigrant Support Programme funding from the Irish Government. The annual grants, formerly known as Dion funds, must be applied for online before the February 29 closing date.
FIS will hold two briefings to assist those clubs, centres and charities hoping to avail of a funding injection in Birmingham and London next week.
There representatives of the Irish Embassy and the Department of Foreign Affairs will present information on what funding is available, who can apply for it and the application process.
FIS representative Anna Franks said: “The ESP supports capital, community and heritage projects which foster a greater sense of identity and belonging within Irish communities and strengthen their links with Ireland.”
The first briefing will take place at Irish in Birmingham’s offices on Tuesday, February 7 from 2pm- 4pm. The second briefing will take place at the London Irish Centre in Camden on Wednesday, February 8 from 11am-1pm.
Both briefings are open to managers and fundraisers in organisations providing services to the Irish community in Britain.
The events are free but attendees must pre-register and there is a maximum of two places available per organisation.
