THE first tweet from space in the Irish language has been sent.
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has become the first person to tweet ‘as Gaelige’ from millions of miles above earth.
Commander Hadfield’s tweet - “Tá Éire fíorálainn! Land of green hills dark beer. With Dublin glowing in the Irish night” - was accompanied by a night shot of Dublin (pictured) which was taken from the International Space Station.
His translated message read, roughly translated, Ireland is so very beautiful.
He recently revealed that he has a special interest in Ireland as his daughter is currently living there.
