Garda appeal after man 'attempts to drag woman down laneway' during late-night assault and robbery

GARDAÍ ARE appealing for information from the public following a late-night assault and robbery of a woman over the weekend.

The incident occurred at approximately 3am on Sunday, December 1st on Castle Road in Bandon, Co Cork.

The victim was walking alone down Castle Road when she was approached by a 6ft male in black clothing, with the word "PUMA" written across his jumper.

According to The Independent, the male at first attempted to engage her in conversation before suddenly attempting to drag her down a darkened laneway.

The woman, who resisted the efforts to be dragged into the laneway, was then knocked to the ground and assaulted.
