Herd of cows run riot through virtually empty streets of town during lockdown

A HERD of curious cows have been filmed wandering through the streets of a quiet, deserted of a Welsh town during lockdown.

Noah Williamson, aged 12, captured footage of the adventurous bovines bounding their way through the streets of Southgate in Gower.

It was filmed minutes after his brother had dashed off to get out of the way of the fast-moving herd.

While most of the cows were seen moving at some considerable speed, one appeared to be in a spot of bother after somehow getting a plastic chair stuck on its head.

The cows reportedly belong to a local farmer who is currently out of town.

While the herd has been known to roam on occasion, this is the first time they have taken to the streets.

Thankfully for the townsfolk and farmer involved, the cows eventually headed home, settled back in their usual grazing area.

But, having enjoyed a taste of town life, no one can rule out a return in the coming weeks, while much of the public remain indoors.

It’s not the first-time farm animals have taken to the streets during this pandemic, with Wales proving a particular hotspot for this kind of activity with two previous breakouts involving sheep.
