Husband of murdered MP Jo Cox quits charity involvement following sexual harassment claims

BRENDAN COX has given up his public roles due to allegations of sexual harassment made against him.

The 39-year-old widower has resigned from posts at two charities he founded to commemorate his wife due to the nature of the claims.

It's said in the year of 2015, Cox sexually harassed a co-worker while working for charity Save The Children. Another woman has accused him of touching her in an appropriate manner while on a work trip to Harvard University in 2015 also.

According to The Journal, Cox gave a statement apologising for his past behaviour:

"I want to apologise deeply and unreservedly for my past behaviour and for the hurt and offence that I have caused.

"In the aftermath of Jo’s murder, I promised that I would dedicate my life to two things, firstly loving and protecting our children and secondly fighting the hatred that killed Jo.

"In the last few days allegations from several years ago have resurfaced that makes concentrating on both of those tasks much more difficult."

He confirmed his decision on Twitter also.
