Irishman dies after collapse at restaurant in Southeast Asia

AN IRISHMAN has died after collapsing in a restaurant in Southeast Asia

The Irishman, aged in his 40s, was reported to have collapsed in an Ethiopian restaurant in Phnom Penh, in the south-eastern region of Cambodia.

The incident happened yesterday, May 18, around 3.30pm local time.

Staff attempted to help the Irishman but he died at the scene.

The incident was captured on Facebook Live and later uploaded to YouTube.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs said they are aware of the case and are providing consular assistance to the man's family.
