London Irishman left heartbroken after thieves steal his customised new Mustang from driveway

A LONDON Irishman has appealed for help to trace a unique car he bought as a retirement gift to himself after thieves stole the 'one off' vehicle from his driveway.

Phillip Oliver, 64, bought the special order blue Mustang, a car which has a starting retail price of £32,000, after retiring from British Gas after 45 years.

"It's a brand new blue Mustang, two door sports car and it's only five months old.

"I bought it as a retirement present to myself when I retired from British Gas after 45 years and it was a little treat to myself," he told The Irish Post.

The car, which has a very distinctive license plate of PH11 EPE, was taken shortly before 3am this morning by two men in the Kingsbury area, close to Fryent Country Park in north west London.

Mr Oliver, who was born in London but whose parents come from Mayo, called the police to report the theft shortly before 6am this morning.

"Unfortunately there's very little they can do," Mr Phillips said. "The car is gone."

"Please just keep an eye out for the car, it's very distinguishable and a one off.

"It took eight months to get it as it was on special order and we'd like it back."

Anyone with information regarding the stolen blue Mustang should contact Metropolitan Police on 101.
