Man arrested at Dublin Airport for alleged offences under Child Trafficking and Pornography Act

A MAN has been arrested upon arrival at Dublin Airport for alleged offences under the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act.

The man was extradited from Hungary following his arrest in Budapest on Wednesday, December 11 on foot of a European Arrest Warrant for offences committed in Ireland.

His arrest in Dublin on Friday morning was carried out by the Extradition Unit of the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The man had been sought by gardaí over alleged offences under the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act, 1998.

Following his arrest, he was transferred to Killarney Garda Station where he was processed ahead of his appearance before Limerick Circuit Court on Monday morning.

The investigation involved close cooperation between An Garda Síochána, Hungarian authorities and other partners of the ENFAST Network (European Network Fugitive Active Search Teams).
