Man charged with manslaughter following death of Irish woman in road crash

DETECTIVES investigating the death of an Irish woman following a road crash have charged a man.

Natasha Carruthers, 23, died following a crash in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh shortly before midnight on Saturday October 7.

Two other people, one man and one woman, were also taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.

Previously, the crash was thought to have been a single vehicle crash but following a PSNI investigation, detectives uncovered a second vehicle had been involved in the collision.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter, two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury, perverting the course of justice, possession of an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

He is expected to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates Court later today, October 18.

A 20-year-old man previously released on police bail has been released unconditionally.

A 40-year-old man previously released on police bail has now been released pending report to the Public Prosecution Service.
