Man charged with murder of Brooklyn Colbert in Limerick will appear in court today

A MAN charged in connection with the murder of 11-year-old Brooklyn Colbert is due to appear in Limerick District Court this morning.

The unnamed man, aged in his 20s, was arrested shortly after the discovery of Brooklyn's body in a house in Ballynanty, Limerick city on November 3rd.

Emergency services were called but the 11-year-old schoolboy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination was conducted at University Hospital Limerick, however the details of the examination have not been released by gardaí.

The man is expected to appear in court at 10am this morning to hear the charges against him.

Meanwhile, the funeral for Brooklyn Colbert will also take place today, at 11am in St Saviour's Church, Limerick, with burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery.

He is sadly missed by parents Sonia and Wayne, brothers Thomas and Carter, grandparents,great-grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins.

May he rest in peace.

Gardaí have previously released an appeal for information from anybody in the vicinity of Shanabooley Road, Ballynanty or Moyross between 4pm and 7pm on Sunday November 3rd who may have seen anything suspicious or who may have any information relating to the investigation.
