Missing teenager Jade Lynch found safe and well

MISSING teenager Jade Lynch has been found safe and well in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

The 14-year-old, who was last seen nearly two weeks ago in St Helens town centre, was located by police at 9.30pm last night (April 6).

Detectives leading the search for the teen had become increasingly concerned as she seemingly had no access to a mobile phone or cash.

Jade, who is originally from Warrington, now lives in St Helens, where she had last been seen on Saturday, March 26 with her two younger brothers.

A nationwide appeal launched on Monday led to information being received that helped police find her.

Yesterday Cheshire Police Detective Superintendent Jon Betts, who led the search, said: "I'm pleased to announce that Jade was located safe and well in the Wigan area of Greater Manchester at approximately 9.30pm today.

"Now that we have located Jade we are currently in the process of returning her to a place of safety.

"We will continue to work with our partners to support Jade and her family over the coming days.”

He added: "I would like to take this as an opportunity to say a huge thank you to the media and to the public for all of the information and support that you have provided, which has proved vital in our investigation to locate Jade."
