Mum says daughters could have died after suspected ecstasy pills found among trick-or-treat sweets

A MOTHER has said she is ‘mortified’ after finding a package containing suspected ecstasy tablets among her children’s trick-or-treat sweets.

Amy Dixon from North Tyneside, England made the discovery last night before taking the suspected drugs to police.

She revealed what happened in a Facebook video she posted on Halloween night to help warn other parents.

Northumbria Police say they are investigating the ‘concerning’ report.

'Mortified'

Ms Dixon said she discovered the pills after her two daughters, aged five and two, returned from trick-or-treating.

Among the sweets, she found a brown envelope with around 10 pink tablets inside, each with a letter S on them.

“I’m absolutely mortified to think that someone has given my children these,” she said on the video.

“This is disgusting; that could have killed my little girls.”

She revealed she was going to bring the pills to a local police station.

Northumbria Police said: “We are investigating a report from a parent that unknown pink tablets were placed in her daughter’s trick or treat bucket in Shiremoor last night.

“Inquiries to establish if the tablets are harmful are ongoing but any reports of this nature are extremely concerning and will be taken seriously by police.”
