AN ELDERLY cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision in Co. Kildare yesterday morning has since died in hospital.
The woman, who was aged in her 80s, collided with a truck while riding her bicycle on the R414 at Monasterevin at around 9.50am on August 10.
She was brought to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Dublin for treatment of her injuries, where she died yesterday, Gardaí have confirmed in a statement this morning.
They have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
“Road users who were travelling in the area of the R414 (Rathangan Road) – known locally as ‘Cow Pastures’ - at Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, on August 10, 2026 between 9.15am and 10.15am and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí,” they said in a statement.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station on (045) 527 730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
