NINE people have been seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Dublin this morning, with one youth in a critical condition.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the M50 southbound between junction 11 and junction 12 of the M50 at around 5.30am.
Gardaí said it responded to reports of a vehicle travelling northbound on the southbound carriageway of the M50.
"The vehicle was driving down the up ramp at Junction 12 when it collided head-on with a car," added a garda spokesperon.
"A total of eight occupants, all male juveniles, who were in the vehicle were transported to a number of different hospitals for treatment.
"One of the youths remains in a critical condition."
The driver of the second car, a man in his 20s, was also take to hospital with serious injuries.
In a separate incident, a man in his 20s was seriously injured following a collision involving a bus and a car in Co. Kerry.
The incident occurred on the N70 at Aghatubrid, Caherciveen at around 5am today.
"The male driver of the car, aged in his 20s was seriously injured and has been transferred to University Hospital Cork," said a garda spokesperson.
The driver of the bus, a man aged in his 50s, was uninjured.
The road was closed for an examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
