Nadine Coyle joins Girls Aloud bandmates for Race for Life in memory of Sarah Harding

NADINE COYLE and her Girls Aloud bandmates took part in a Race for Life event on Sunday in memory of their late friend, Sarah Harding.

The Derry native, as well as Nicola Roberts and Cheryl, led hundreds of runners at the special 5km event in London's Hyde Park organised by Cancer Research UK.

Meanwhile, fellow Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh joined in remotely by taking part at home.

The event was in memory of former bandmate Sarah Harding, who passed away from breast cancer last September at the age of 39.

Posting on Instagram, Coyle said that Harding would have been honoured by the support shown at the event.

"It was so lovely to see everyone who came out to walk with us today for #raceforlifeforsarah," wrote Coyle.

"Sarah would have loved this day & loved seeing you all coming together for such a great cause!!!

"Sending so much love to anyone who couldn't make it but joined in virtually or just sent a donation."

Meanwhile, bandmate Cheryl added: "I had such a gorgeous day seeing and catching up with you all. You made it easier and much better.

"Sarah would be so happy! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming together to try and fight this! I love you."

Harding was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and later discovered it had spread to other parts of her body.

She underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy under the care of Dr Sacha Howell and the team at the Christie Hospital in Manchester.

However, she sadly passed away on September 5, 2021.
