Payout on ice – footage released after man accused of faking slip for insurance claim

A MAN in the US has been arrested and charged with insurance fraud over an alleged fraudulent insurance claim.

Alexander Goldinsky, 57, of Randolph, New Jersey, claimed he was inured after slipping on ice while working as an independent contractor at a company.

He filed a claim between September 1, 2018 and November 1, 2018 for the ambulance service and hospital treatment he received for his alleged injuries.

However following an investigation on behalf of Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Goldinsky was arrested on January 15.

The prosecutor claims Goldinsky purposely threw the ice on the floor at the company in Woodbridge, placed himself on the ground and waited until he was discovered.

They have now released security footage of the incident.

“Fraudulent claims cost everyone and we will aggressively prosecute those who illegally manipulate the system,” said Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey.

Goldinsky has been charged with one count of insurance fraud in the third degree and one count of theft by deception in the third degree.

He is due to appear at New Brunswick Superior Court on February 7.
