Seven Irish counties braced for heavy rain and floods over the next 12 hours

IRELAND is bracing itself for heavy rain and flooding overnight.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for all of Munster and Galway for the next 12 hours.

From 4pm today until 4am tomorrow, January 11, counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford and Galway can expect showers and longer spells of thundery rain.

Forecasters have warned people living in these counties to expect surface water and spot flooding of between 25-40 mm.
