Tourists who died in Irish road crash are named

TWO tourists who died in a fatal road collision in Ireland have been named.

They were 59-year-old Peggy Sue Adams, from Ohio, and 62-year-old James Baker, from Indiana, RTÉ reports.

It is believed they were travelling to Blarney when the tragedy happended.

Three others were also hospitalised after the deadly crash, which happended shortly after 11am on Monday, September 11 in Co. Cork.

Emergency services were called to the scene after two cars collided with a lorry on the N20 at the Waterloo Junction.

The American tourists were pronounced dead at the scene.

None of the three other motorists injured suffered life-threatening injuries but were taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The stretch of road where the collision occurred was closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
