TWO TWIN sister who made global headlines after marrying twin brothers in a unique dual wedding have announced they are both pregnant.
Brittany and Briana Salyers have stayed close since their nuptials – in fact, they still live together along with their two husbands, who are also brothers, of course.
Even so, the news that the two couples are both expecting at the same time is unique, to say the least.
It’s also unique from a scientific perspective as the sisters’ children won’t be cousins but rather “full genetic siblings and quaternary multiples” according to the happy couples.
The twins broke the news on Instagram in an unusual Baywatch themed photo shoot featuring the two sets of twins in matching outfits.
“Can’t wait to meet them and for them to meet each other,” the sisters wrote alongside the announcement, featuring both women in special "Baby Watch" swimwear.
It marks the latest chapter in an unusual love story that began back in 2017.
That was the year the two couples first met at the annual Twins Days festival in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Within a year, brothers Josh and Jeremy had proposed to their respective sisters, choosing a spot at the suitably named Twin Lakes State Park in Virginia to pop the question.
They subsequently marred at a special ceremony held at the 2018 Twins Days festival with the nuptials featuring on a TLC TV special titled Our Twinsane Wedding.
In another interesting twist, both grooms opted to dress in identical tuxedos while the brides both donned identical dresses.
“It’s really been a fairy tale come true. Marrying twins is something that’s very important to us,” Briana told TLC at the time of the wedding.
“Even when we were little girls I can remember being in kindergarten, knowing that that is what we saw for ourselves.”
The dual pregnancies aren’t a massive shock to either couple though.
During an appearance on Australian TV, Brittany let slip that they were planning to be with child at the same time.
“We have experienced most milestones of our lives together – birthdays, getting your driver’s license, graduations and our double wedding,” she said.
“This would be the next huge event, and we’d love to experience it together. And ideally, we will.”
And, of course, with both families boasting a history of twins, there could end up being more than two new arrivals in the Salyers’ household next year.
