Two men arrested after firearm and drugs worth €320,000 seized during house search in Galway

Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of drugs worth a total of €320,000 in Galway earlier today. 

Gardaí from the Divisional Drug unit in Galway captured the massive haul of cannabis grass and cocaine in a dawn raid.

A firearm was also seized during the operation.

The search was aimed at targeting organised criminal activity in Galway East.

Gardaí from the Divisional Drug unit in Galway, assisted by the local Loughrea unit and the dog unit, searched the house under warrant.

Two men, one aged in his mid 20s and another aged in his 40s, were immediately arrested at the scene.

Both have been detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
