Conor McGregor considering move to buy shares in Celtic

IT SEEMS like McGregor has given it an awful lot of thought...

Conor McGregor clearly has a lot of time on his hands these days.

Despite the fact that he has a massive fight coming up against Dustin Poirier, who defeated him comfortably back in January, he is definitely spending a lot more time on social media than he once did.

Late last night, he logged on to Twitter and urged his millions of followers to ask him questions, which he would reply to throughout the night.

One question was asked in relation to something McGregor said amid the European Super League fiasco, where he said that he was interested in purchasing Manchester United.

He was asked by a fan whether he was serious about this request, and his response was far more serious than anticipated.

He responded to say that he is seriously interested in buying a football club, but that it might be Celtic that he move towards, instead of Manchester United.

He said: "A conversation came up regarding Celtic first to be honest. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond. I am certainly interested in acquiring a sports team at some stage! Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like for sure. But I am open."

He also said that he feels he could do "big things" for a football club.

We're not sure what Celtic fans would make of this news.

McGregor has been a Celtic fan since childhood, and has often trained in the iconic green and white jersey.
