Conor McGregor pulls out of Dustin Poirier rematch over charity donation issue

MCGREGOR ALLEGEDLY didn't follow through on a promise to donate $500,000 to Poirier's charity.

Conor McGregor has seemingly pulled out of a scheduled rematch with Dustin Poirier over a charity donation issue.

Poirier has accused the Dublin fighter of not following through on a promise to donate $500,000 to Poirier's charity - The Good Fight Foundation.

After McGregor said that he would win the third fight between the two, Poirier tweeted: "You also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January. See you soon. July 10th Paid In Full!"

McGregor responded: "A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly."

Since then, McGregor said that the fight, which was due to take place in July, is now off, and that he will now fight someone else instead.

We'll be quick to point out that this is the same man who has retired from fighting at least three times, so we'll take this fight cancellation with a grain or salt or two.

Poirier defeated McGregor convincingly in January, with the referee stopping the fight in the second round.
