REPUBLIC of Ireland international defender Alex Pearce is still waiting for Reading to offer him a new contract.
Twenty six year old Pearce has only two months remaining on his current deal with goalkeeper Adam Federci and popular skipper Jem Karacan in similar situations.
“The club haven’t made contact yet,” Pearce told www.getreading.co.uk.
“I’m in the same boat as Jem, we’re two players who are up at the end of the season and we’re waiting to see what happens.
“I guess they were just waiting for us to be safe, we’ve done that now and I’m sure the club will come forward.
“It’s up to them, but there’s a lot of work to do over the summer.”
A crucial summer looms for Reading according to Pearce. “The whole club has got to get it right. From the boardroom downwards.
“But as players we can’t control that, all we can control is what we do out on the pitch and we’re all looking to build for next season. It’s a great club to be at.”
