Shane Long makes little Irish girl’s dream come true with surprise offer to walk Ireland out in Dublin

WITH Ireland dreaming of World Cup qualification ahead of tonight’s crunch match against Serbia in Dublin, striker Shane Long has made one little fan’s own dream come true.

The Boys in green still have games against Moldova and Wales to come next month but need a victory to potentially make or break their qualification hopes.

One supporter who will certainly be cheering them on is Chloe Brennan from Clarehall in Dublin – a massive Irish fan who is particularly partial to Tipperary native Shane.

Chloe, 8, arrived at the FAI team hotel with her parents in the run-up to tonight’s game with no idea of the surprise that was in store for her.

The youngster had entered into a competition to be the mascot for the big game at the Aviva Stadium, and on hand to tell her the good news and present her with an Ireland jersey was none other than her hero Shane.

After asking him to sign her jersey, Chloe spoke to Shane about dogs and Leeds United, with the die-hard Ireland fan describing her big surprise as “the best day in my life”.
