KATIE Taylor defeated Azerbaijan’s Yana Alekseevna to advance to the European Games final in Baku.
Twenty eight year old Taylor won a thrilling bout on a split decision to book a spot in tomorrow’s decider setting up a clash with Estelle Mossely from France.
Alekseevna contributed to a gruelling battle which was shaded by Taylor, who stayed cool in the last round to seal victory following a countback.
Michael O’Reilly will also contest a gold medal bout tomorrow after his Russian opponent was forced to withdraw from their semi-final due to a failed medical.
