REPUBLIC OF IRELAND under 19 international Kevin Toner is currently being watched by several clubs.

Toner’s contract with Aston Villa finishes in the summer with Stoke City, Leicester City, Newcastle United, and Norwich City all rumoured to be interested in signing the central defender.

Impressed by his leadership qualities Villa are believed to have offered Toner a new deal.

Ashbourne native Toner has trained with the Villa first team as new boss Tim Sherwood is anxious to develop young talent at the Birmingham outfit.

Republic of Ireland under 21 international Jack Grealish started Villa’s thrilling 3-3 Premier League draw with QPR on Monday.

Toner featured for Paul Doolin’s Irish under 19 side, who exited the European Championship qualifiers at the Elite Phase last month.

Other promising youngsters in that squad include QPR duo Recce Grego-Cox and Ryan Manning and Fulham’s Noe Baba.  Pacy attacker Grego-Cox has already made two substitute appearances for QPR.
