Westmeath cruise to hurling win over London

Westmeath 2-20

London 1-8

London got off to a disappointing start in Division 2A of the Allianz Hurling League as they were put to the sword by a potent Westmeath at Cusack Park, Mullingar.

The visitors’ struggled to find any real momentum and were forced to feed off scraps for long periods of this one sided encounter.

Unfortunately for the Exiles they were severely understrength in this fixture due to the fact that a number of their players were involved with club duties in Croke Park.

Michael Ivors scored an early goal for London, but Robbie Greville replied with two majors for Westmeath, who ran out convincing winners.
