Jack Reynor lands role in new Jungle Book movie

IRISH actor Jack Reynor has joined the cast of forthcoming film Jungle Book: The Origins.

The 22-year-old will play the role of Brother Wolf in the big screen 3-D adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic The Jungle Book.

Reynor will star alongside Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale in the film directed by Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings.

Serkis will also voice the character of the bear Baloo.

The film will focus on the chapter Mowgli and his Brothers, which tells the tale of the orphan Mowgli who is raised by jungle animals.

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch will play the character of  the villainous tiger, Shere Khan, who was famously voiced by George Sanders in the 1967 Disney cartoon.

Bale will voice panther Begheera whilst Blanchett will take on the role of the hypnotic snake Kaa.

The film is being produced by Warner Brothers and will hit cinema screens in 2016.

Reynor recently featured in Michael Bay's action film Transformers: Age of Extinction
